Biomass Zilla spinosa Fruit Functionnalized Polyethyleneimine Polymer: Analysis and Application for the Elimination of Calmagite in Water

The valorization of natural polymeric substrates has increased due to their uses and applications in several fields. existence many functional groups chemical structures allows them be easily subjected modifications. This work focuses on the exploration a new low-cost abundant cellulosic biomass, Zilla spinosa fruit. biomaterial was functionnalized with polyethyleneimine (1%, 3%, 5%, 8%) order impart reactive sites its surface. virgin biomaterials were analysed using analytical methods; X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS), Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). XPS spectrum spinosa-polyethyleneimine exhibited appearance peak at 399 eV, which corresponds N1s (5.07%). adsorption characteristics prepared adsorbents evaluated toward calmagite, an azoic anionic dye. capacity (5%) reached 114 mg/g pH = 5, T 20 °C, time 60 min conditions; though, it does not exceed 8.4 for under same experimental conditions. kinetic data followed both pseudo-first-order pseudo-second-order equations suggesting physicochemical process. mechanism found exothermic non-spontaneous.
